Roadrunner 1993 - All rights owned by them - no copyright infringement intended. Bloody Kisses is the third album by the Brooklyn band Type O Negative. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Type Kisses is the third studio album by the American band Type O Negative and the last recording with the band's original line-up, as the drummer, Sal Abruscato, left in late 1993. The album includes one of their best known songs, Black No. 1, which earned the band a considerable cult following. The album further established recurring motifs of the band's music, such as including cover songs recorded in the gothic metal style, sample-heavy soundscapes in between songs, and lyrics replete with dry. Bloody Kisses is the third album by Brooklyn band Type O Negative. It marked significant stylistic growth for the band in terms of songwriting and production values, and it is also the last recording to feature Sal Abruscato on drums. The album further established Type O Negative motifs, such as including cover songs restylized into gloomy gothic doom, featuring sample-heavy soundscapes in between songs, and dry, satirical humor. Bloody Kisses is the third album by Type O Negative, released on August 17, 1993. It is the album that would put Type O Negative into mainstream popularity in metal fandom following a somewhat lack of success with their first two albums. Bloody Kisses established Type O Negative motifs, such as songs originally recorded by another band restylized into gloomy gothic. Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses 1993. Bloody Kisses. • Haralem
Not the 3LP but ROG is preordering a 2LP version
  • Wel
Hi, just for my curiosity, why prefer this ROG edition instead the MOV? Thank you
  • Yadon
You’re a true gentleman, thank you for that. I got in on the action
  • Doktilar
I made sure to get in on this preorder. Hoping for October Rust, and World Coming Down also at some point.
  • playboy
more copies in a very fair price on sale on Must Have Vinyl from Canada:
  • Zeli
I just got my copy today from Port of Sound, and I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase. The top side of the outer jacket is slightly damaged (you can see images in the link below), but it was still a pretty good deal; $50 with shipping as you get a 10% discount when you sign up. They still have them if you want to get a copy:
  • TheFresh
Thank you for the info. I paid the normal acceptable price for it instead of what these vultures want for it.
  • Mightdragon
could this be already sold out? 5000 copies are a lot but Im surprised to see that they aren't appearing so much and the few I see are being sold for 100 $
  • grand star
Can anyone who has both the ROG and MOV releases comment on audio quality comparison?
  • Agamaginn
I feel like they're identical. I will say that the sleeve on this one sucks hard and that the MOV one looks MUCH better. All that said, my sound system is minimalist, so keep that in mind. If I had to get rid of one or the other, I'd ditch the record store day version.
  • Halloween
Finally got my copy of this beautiful re-release. I think someone in the comments pointed out that Port Of Sound were selling copies at the original asking price, and even though shipping cost me a bunch, it was well worth it.Had both album versions on cd back when they were originally released and somehow I never grew tired of TON. Granted, not something I'll be listening to every day, but when I'm in the mood for some doom and gloom and tongue-in-cheek humour, no-one does/did it better than the Brooklyn boys. Now for this release, the remastering sounds very impressive, while still maintaining a dynamic sound. Full bass, punchy drums and a lot of breathing room, also thanks to a very clean pressing. The vinyl itself being green with black swirls goes perfectly with the artwork, which, despite not being very high-res, looks as good as I'd like it to, maybe I even prefer this over a totally clean looking cover. The third record comes with a bunch of bonus tracks, some from the alternate cd release, some different versions of album tracks, all TON gold, but alas nothing new.All in all, this is green gold.YOU SUCK!
  • Ffel
Awesome, glad you got a copy, too. As long as the money doesn't go to one of those scalpers, it's all good,
  • Vaua
Huge thnx!! Picked it up today from Port of Sound for $54 total after 10% new cust discount and free domestic shipping.
  • PC-rider
Run Out Groove knocked it out of the park on this one. Sound quality is excellent, bass is powerful, surface noise it's low. I can't say enough good things about this mastering. The detail freak in me loves that the horrible misspelled word "Lewed" in the album art that's been annoying me since the mid 1990s has finally been corrected. I wish they could have better Incorporated some artwork elements like the gas mask photo or the hilarious kosher certification mark on the back, but these are minor quibbles. If you want a copy of this to actually spin on your turntable, this is the one. The bonus disc is also high quality, with cool rarities and sounds as good as the rest, but that's just a bonus. The fact that it's in gorgeous and appropriate green vinyl is just icing on the cake.
  • Doriel
A quick rundown on this pressing, from my first listenPros-each side has more than enough breathing room per song. The instruments are clearly defined and not up each others ass-the bonus disc has some interesting cuts on it-lined inner sleeves feel quality, way better than regular paper sleeves -drums sound especially fresh, despite how god damn reverb soaked they are Cons-tri folds are a pain in the ass-the extra clarity comes at the cost of a vaguely distorted high end, not exactly sibilance but noticeably shrill especially on the vocals -the art could be more hi res, especially the text. The slow deep and hard reissue has much sharper text on the front -doesn’t include the hazmat suits picture (I liked that picture)Overall I say the pros vastly outweigh the cons, I’ll take clean audio over a nice picture any day of the week. Good job ROG
  • SkroN
I agree. The old Cargo Records issue had a much better looking sleeve. The audio on this one blows it out of the water though.
  • Anaginn
Holy smokes this is a demo disc! Runout Groove has been releasing really great music and the products I’ve purchased have been outstanding (Secret Machines, Morphine, Echo & The Bunnymen).
  • Arashilkis
Probably one of the greatest psychedelic rock albums of all time, overshadowed by people bickering about flippers and shills in the review section. The ROGV pressing is fantastic, and I couldn't be happier with the sound quality or presentation. A+ all around. I listen to a lot of different stuff, some of which is quite obscure or avant garde, but Type O is my favorite band. World Coming Down is my favorite TON album, but their greatness is apparent here and I couldn't imagine this sounding better.
  • RUL
Bloody Kisses, psychedelic rock? Not wanting to be that guy, but this is not psychedelic at all. You may need listening to King Wizzard And The Lizard Wizard, for example...
  • Swordsong
They really did an amazing job on this one. Unbelievable pressing.
  • Risteacor
Bloody Kisses is a masterpiece of an album. I bought it the day it came out when I was in the 8th grade, one of the few albums that I can listen to 25 years later and still get a punch in the gut every time I hear it.
  • Ballardana
Ive owned the original CD, the Cargo Records vinyl reissue, and now this. The cargo records reissue is garbage. The deadwax on all four sides are really long. The sound is really compressed. This release howver has thin deadwax allowing maximum vinyl width. The remaster is very isolated on certain sections and gives breathing room to every sound. Trust me all jumbled and over powered instruments you will not get.Now as far as what source the master is. Id take a stab and say a digital scan of the orignal tapes at 192 khz 48 bit.
  • Anarasida
I remember The SPARS Code on this original release as being "DDD"; so the original tapes (maybe DAT?) were digital as well.
  • Kamuro
Yea a joke already trying to get twice as much as retail, especially with another release that is way cheaper. Started out with 4 earlier already up 10, so rare lol. 5000 were pressed I am sure I will find one at reasonable prices.
  • Zeueli
My record store still has 2 left. They will go down with 5000 pressed
  • Acebiolane
I am being told there is a repress of this coming for a regular (Non-RSD) release. Can anyone confirm that?
  • Uyehuguita
rharris07 I am being told there is a repress of this coming for a regular (Non-RSD) release. Can anyone confirm that? No, this is an "RSD Exclusive" not an "RSD First" release so that implies there won't be a non-RSD version
  • Nuadazius December 7th MOV 'limited edition silver.' I guess its a different shade of silver. Lol. The markets going to be so overran with bloody kisses
  • Danrad
Wow! A RSD release pressed on colored wax that DOESN'T sound like shit! Never thought the day would come. (All snarky comments aside though, this pressing is a thing of beauty. Don't pay what the flippers are asking, but get you a copy of this via alternate means if you can.)
  • Kesalard
My gosh am I so happy to get this. This edition was pretty well taken care of, it sounds fantastic, the sleeve is nice and sturdy. The sound is really well balanced, my room fills with the low end and the high is crystal clear. So not disappointing, well worth the $44 I paid, well worth paying up to $70 from a flipper if you are die hard and missed the sale.
  • Nanecele
I couldn't agree more about the sound. I was impressed, better than expected. It really is SO good.
  • Makaitist
Sounds good. Nice dynamics. Nice expansive sound with a wide soundstage. Big drum sound. Intimate vocal sound. Only complaint is the highs could be a little shrill and there is some sibilance in the vocals. Also, bass seems a little undefined (could just be my system). But overall, it's a pretty rad sounding reissue and I'm definitely enjoying rocking out to this. Paid $44 which I think is a pretty fair price for 3 LPs worth of material. Pressing quality is ace, plays super silent, no noise in the quiet parts, no pressing flaws to speak of and super nice packaging with black polylined inner sleeves. Happy with this release.
  • Bliss
Sumiko pearl cart which usually doesn't let me down but I think may have a trouble reproducing some of the heavier stuff
  • Hono
What cart and stylus are you using? Original styli or genric ones?
  • Hiclerlsi
Did anyone else get a damaged copy? Sleeves not glued down, folded inner corner.
  • Coidor
RSD participating indi record stores are NOT allowed to jack up the price as much as they want, so if you bought a copy of this album for more than say $45 - $47 dollars at an indi record store, you got ripped off, and the owner of the store should be reported, and banned from participating in RSD ever again! Being ripped off from a flipper online however is legal and common practice, unfortunately...
  • Hidden Winter
In France, I bought it 60 euros (68 $), but including the delivery for the record store... Clearly very beautiful edition with superb sound
  • Malakelv
It's hilarious when new sellers with questionable feedback (or no feedback) show up selling brand new items for 3x the retail price, using "I stood in line for hours to get this" as an excuse to charge $120+.11,666 (5k green, 6.6k silver) copies is the largest pressing this album has ever received, yet flippers are pricing it so high it's in fact cheaper to actually buy the original pressing itself.Avoid all flippers. 11,666 copies is a ton. Do not pay more than $45-50, you will regret it after the frenzy dies down and amoeba and everyone else puts all their inventory of this record online for sale at retail price. The only copies of this that are going to show up on Discogs today are from people who saw it at the store and thought they could flip it for double or triple the price. Once stores put their stock of this up on Discogs the price will be normal again. The flippers are just hoping your lack of patience (or fear of missing out) will make them a $70-80 profit. You're gonna kick yourself when there's dozens of copies on here for $45 next week.
  • FailCrew
Right, I just meant there's 5k of this one and 6,666 of the grey one, for a total of 11,666 copies. That's a lot.
  • Nidora
Not to be that internet ACKSHUALLY guy, but this is technically a different release with one more LP and a different kind of jacket than the Gray colored one, so it's still limited to only 5,000 and will (and rightfully should) will be more sought after and valuable than the 6.6k pressing. That said, I do not agree with the flippers at all and yes people should be patient. Just wanted to point that out.
  • Galubel
Does this come with printed inner sleeves? Or just plain ones
  • Prorahun
These are my favorite type of sleeves. Paper helps with proecting the record. Plastic doesnt scrape the record
  • Moogura
Plain black lined liners, pressing sounds great and looks beautiful
  • Qwne
Amazed to see eBay completed listings showing several sales of $110, would love a copy for the additional tracks but not at that price. The EU Silver DLP at £22 is a bargain & I'm guessing someone will upload the extra tracks at some point. Happens every year & 12 months later, or less the once 'highly sought' items are selling for far less, hope that applies again.
  • Eigeni
With 6,666 copies of the MOV silver edition and 5,000 copies of the 3xLP green edition, that's nearly 12,000 copies of Bloody Kisses on vinyl entering the world. That's a massive number of copies. The demand won't be nearly that high, there will be a surplus of both versions, just wait for the initial frenzy to pass.
  • Onoxyleili
Can’t wait to see the vultures arrive to flood this release.
  • Grarana
So I dropped 77 dollars for this release I’d like to say screw you roadrunner you suck.
  • Leyl
is there going to be an european or an standard version of this?
  • Jum
Yeah, if you live in the USA or Canada. But here in Europe we can only dream about the green ones.
  • superstar
I'm with you on Life is Killing Me and World Coming Down. It'd be nice to have the bonus tracks from those albums too. Like the songs that ended up on Least Worst of and Kane's Theme. Alt. version of Summer Girl and Summer Breeze. Idk. Not a huge fan of Dead Again or October Rust. Be nice to have Origin of the Feces and Slow, Hard, and Deep.
  • Dorintrius
Music on vinyl has a EU version coming out the 23th on Black friday. Silver vinyl limited edition of 6666 numbered. But it will only contain the album on 2 discs and NOT the bonus stuff.
  • I love Mercedes
Yeah I saw people on ebay trying to make money off it already as well. Fuck that. I think this will be a good copy. Its rare that a release for RSD sounds bad. Plus this release is being done not just by roadrunner records but by Run Out Groove as well and they have a very good reputation for good quality work. The record jacket itself will be a Stoughton jacket trifold and the vinyl will be 180 g so I am already led to believe that this will be a quality release. I would say this will cost maximum 50 dollars. If I had to guess. Anyways don't worry. I think there will be plenty of this record to go around and I think that it will also cause the prices of the previous releases to drop a little bit as well. I just wish they would release "world coming down" and Life is killing me" as a stand alone!!!
  • Uriel
yes, I thought the same. 5000 copies are a lot. I just hope that it´i s good pressing and not very expensive. there is people on ebay asking 140€ for it already!
  • Mala
As far as I know only available in the USA and Canada. And I don't think there will be a standard version released for now anyways. Limited to 5000 is a high number so I don't think there will be a problem getting this.
