The Cartridge Family is the fifth episode of The Simpsons' ninth season. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on November 2, 1997. It was written by John Swartzwelder and directed by Pete Michels. In the episode, Homer purchases a gun to protect his family, of which Marge disapproves. Homer begins to show extremely careless gun usage causing Marge to leave him when she catches Bart using the gun without their permission. The episode was intended to show guns in a neutral way. This is pretty good tech-house, but the main track 'First Refusal' has a fairly similar string sequence as Yennek - Serena "X" (Inner Zone Mix) ((Carl Craig)).

Still this should actually serve as a recommendation for both records in their own right as I personally can't get enough of those soaring euphoric strings. This being the latter, and tech-house era version though it does have a bit more pace, rattling over a simple Ron Trent techno style beat workout !

Technically quite interesting though as that now makes this a "Detroit Standard", which although might on the surface appear to be undermining, actually strengthens the Detroit Techno Legacy, and the work of those pioneering producers.

Immitation, flattery and musical pleasure help keep the music industry alive after all!

Solid four-tracker somewhere between techno, house, electro and dub atmosphere. 'First Refusal' stands above, with a beautiful bleepy and stringy tech-house production, like a more bouncy, uplifting Detroit track. Perhaps a bit too 'complex' to fit all dancefloors, this is still a proper underground melodic techno gem.
