The title of Talking Heads' second album, More Songs About Buildings and Food, slyly addressed the sophomore record syndrome, in which songs not used on a first LP are mixed with hastily written new material. If the band's sound seems more conventional, the reason simply may be that one had encountered the odd song structures, staccato rhythms, strained vocals, and impressionistic lyrics once before. Through the first nine tracks, More Songs was the successor to 77, which would not have earned it landmark status or made it the commercial breakthrough it became. It was the last two songs that pushed the album over those hurdles. Посмотреть сведения об участниках альбома, рецензии, композиции и приобрести альбом 2006 CD от More Songs About Buildings And Food на is another outstanding deep cut from the 20th century. This will be my last reference to food or buildings for that matter, so if you are here just for that it would be best to save time and leave now. This is pretty much a beginners album to get into the Talking Heads. It isn't the greatest that they have to offer, but is still a very solid rock record, and is worthy of a spot on the Rolling Stone top 500. Overall I would give this album a 45. Talking Heads second album expanded their sound and took them to the dancefloor, marking the beginning of their career-defining collaborations with Brian Eno. When the Ramones and Talking Heads toured Europe in the spring of 1977, Johnny Ramone was annoyed by seemingly everything. The varieties of lettuce served abroad. Stonehenge a buncha rocks, he called it, according to the excellent book Love Goes to Buildings on Fire.
