A pioneer of concrete and electronic music composition, Riedl co-founded and became music director of Siemens Studio für elektronische Musik in Munich 1956-66. The composer also created mutimedia events after establishing the MusikFilmDiaLicht galerie in Munich in 1967. Riedl founded and directed Kultur Forums in Bonn 1974-82.
