Celestial is the debut album by American post-metal band ISIS, released in 2000 by Escape Artist and Hydra Head Records. It is their third solo release and first full length. A year later, Isis released SGNL 05, an EP designed to act as an extension to Celestial its tracks were all directly culled from the Celestial recording sessions. Frontman Aaron Turner describes them as being part of the same whole , separated from each other because releasing a double album for the group's first full-length. Reissue of the bludgeoning debut LP from Isis, released in 2013 on CD2xLP from Ipecac Recordings and Robotic Empire. Originally released in 2000, out with some celestial samples, Isis slowly grows their sound from small and catchy riffs into what sounds like strings being slowly ripped from their instruments for rhythms and wires being shredded for leads. With a conventional drum kit as the bass backdrop to this already immensely down-tuned treble end, the music is easy to fall into yet also hard to discern for the untrained ear. While chaos rises in tracks like Celestial The Tower , Swarm Reigns Down and Deconstructing Towers , the band ensures that while on their progressive journey, the listener is brought back as clos. Celestial, their first album proper, is more cohesive than the scattered Mosquito Control EP and more refined than the small-city-destroying Red Sea EP. While a few familiar-sounding pulsing metal riffs can be found around the place see the opening title track they soon descend into arcing chaos, with half-time riffs leaping in and out of Aaron Turner's throat-burning screams. But there is one thing consistent in the dyanmic of Celestial: even in the quieter moments, you can still hear the band plotting, wearing down the walls of your brain with a slow, steady sledge-hammer pace, planni. Isis - Collapse and Crush. Celestial is Isis' first full-length after two EPs, The Red Sea and Mosquito Control, and it shows their already fairly mature sludgecore style in full swing. Those earlier EPs proved that they already knew how to rock hard, but Celestial, for the first time, also shows off the band's feel for dynamics and for less-aggressive, quieter ways of getting their point across including a more effective and advanced use of electronicnoise elements. Celestial is a music album by Isis released in 2000. Celestial is ranked 37,797th in the overall chart, 8,556th in the 2000s, and 752nd in the year 2000

is it just me or should Swarm Reigns (Down) begin side B? The fadeout at the end of Glisten and the silence between the tracks indicate that this might be some mistake in the pressing.
